The short answer is no, however lets explain. Ice damming or icicles are caused by heat loss from the attic area causing the underside of the roof to get warm and melt snow. The melted snow runs down the roof until it gets to the overhangs or soffit areas. These areas are going to be cold since there is no heat loss below them, this caused the water to freeze at the edge of the roof causing ice dams or in the gutters causing icicles.

This is caused by condensation. The same thing that happens to a cold beverage on a hot day. The cold glass collects the humidity from the air inside the home and it will build up on the bottom of the glass pane where it’s the coldest. This is a major problem on old windows that are not thermally efficient. This can also happen on new efficient windows when temperatures outside are very cold and the humidity inside is very high. It’s recommended to have inside humidity around 15% in the winter to prevent this.
Although this is possible its not recommended. Modern door frames are designed to match up with the new door panels and typically do not offer a good seal if retrofitted. Also the cost of materials and labor to replace and old frame is typically more than just installing a whole new door unit complete with frame and door panel.
